The PGA
Europro Tour has become Europe's leading
developmental tour, with 1000 members and a
massive prize fund totalling in the region of
£1M plus in 2004. The Tour provides a chance for
up and coming young professionals to gain the
necessary experience in competitive golf, and in
particular of the additional pressures involved
with televised competitions.
It aims to
provide a launch-pad for the stars of tomorrow.
The most recent graduate of the Tour is John E
Morgan who stunned the world in 2002 by gaining
both his US PGA Tour card and European Tour card
in his rookie year. Other big names who
started out on the PGA Europro Tour are John
Bickerton, Van Phillips and Ryder Cup player Lee
Westwood. Lee Slattery broke through into
the European Tour after his successful season on
the Europro Tour.
